Product Description
A blend of fifty different Crus, Perrier-Jout Grand Brut expresses the quality and diversity of the House winemaking tradition. Its assemblage creates a balance between the consistency of the Perrier-Jout style and the effects of the climate of the year. With 12 to 20% of reserve wines added, Perrier-Jout Grand Brut is dominated by the elegance and finesse of the Chardonnay (20%) from the best vineyards in the Cte de Blancs. The delicate structure is brought by the Pinot Noir (40%) primarily sourced from the Montagne de Reims and the Valle de la Marne, but also from the best Crus in the Aube region such as Les Riceys. Pinot Meunier (40%) from the Valle de la Marne brings harmony, fruit and roundness to the wine. First released in 1971, Perrier-Jout Grand Brut is an homage to ‘Cuve K’, the first Brut Champagne made by Perrier-Jout in 1846. With crisp acidity and layers of apple and citrus fruits, this attractive wine still has some of the higher dosage typical of this house. Together the fruits and the soft texture have produced a wine that is ready to drink.
Brand Description
Founded in 1811 by Nicolas Perrier and Adle Jout. The foundation of the estate, located in pernay, has always been chardonnay. The maison owns 65 hectares of vineyards, 99.2% of which is Grand Cru, including sites in the Cte des Blancs – Cramant and Avize. This cuve is inspired by the historic Blason de France (1955-1990), Perrier-Jout’s first prestige bottling, in partnership with Relais & Chateau, offered only in the finest restaurants worldwide. The bottle’s slender neck and slight taper are modeled after this original cuve.
