Neta Tepextate is a small-batch Mezcal produced from 100% wild-harvested Tepextate agave in Miahuatln, in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. Neta was established by Niki Nakazawa, Max Rosenstock and Yuskei Murayama, who work with small family farmers from Logoche, in the Miahuatln district of Oaxaca. Double-distilled, with a select cut of high-proof liquid from the first round of distillation (referred to as `shishe macizo`), used to lower the final alcohol content of the heads and hearts selected from the rectification in the second distillation.

Nose: It has very pleasant and lovely aromas.

Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.

Finish: Finish is very smooth and long.

Distillery Information

The origin of mezcal is tied to the introduction of distillation technology which was introduced to New Spain either by the Spanish or Filipino sailors. In the 21st century, mezcal is still made from the heart of the agave plant, called the pia, in much the same way as it was 200 years ago.
