Producer Information
Domaine Naudin-Ferrand is a wine producer based in the village of Magny-ls-Villers in the Hautes Ctes de Beaune appellation of Burgundy’s Cte d’Or, just northwest of Pernand-Vergelesses, midway between the Cte de Nuits and Cte de Beaune subregions (to the north and south respectively). The domaine produces a range of wines under local titles, predominantly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as Aligot. The domaine was built up predominantly over the course of the 20th Century by Henri Naudin whose family had links to the local wine region going back to the 16th Century. Henri Naudin had inherited a small domaine from his father (also Henri) in Magny-ls-Villers and, with wife Liliane Ferrand began progessively expanding vineyard holdings and planting already-held plots of land acquired by his father. In keeping with Burgundian (Napoleonic) inheritance laws the domaine (officially still called Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferraud) is set to pass to Naudin-Ferraud’s three daughters: Anne, Marie and Claire. After stints winemaking in Australia and following the completion of her winemaking degree, Claire begins winemaking at the estate in the early 1990s. Under the management of Claire, and with help from her sisters, the domaine continues production to this day, with holdings in and around Magny-ls-Villers in the Hautes Ctes de Beaune appellation. In all, 22 hectares (54 acres) are covered by the domaine and extend both north and south into Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix, Echezeaux and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
