Producer Information
Chteau Cantin is a Saint-milion Grand Cru producer, found in the commune of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes. Once a Benedictine monastery, the site has been home to grape cultivation for centuries. Today, a chapel still stands on site with the property owned by Jean Leprince. Approximately 30 hectares (74 acres) of vines are cultivated, with an average age of 28 years. The final blend of the grand cru averages around 80 percent Merlot with 10 percent of each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. After a ferment in a stainless steel tank, barrel-aging is 50:50 new and used oak.
