We are Bodegas Terceto , a winery located in La Rioja, which from Logroo offers its wines to the rest of the peninsula. We have a careful selection of Rioja wines. In 2017, partners Pedro Calatayud and Juan Manuel Moreno decided to start a winery to market white wines and clarets from Rioja. That same year, his good friend and great winemaker Jess Madrazo decided to leave Viedos del Contino to embark on his personal project and make great wines with his own name as a guarantee. From the beginning, Jess was involved in the creation of Pedro and Juan Manuel’s whites and clarets and they were involved in the marketing of Jess’ wines. Bodegas Terceto was born from the enthusiasm and passion for wine of these three friends. Born in Carmona (Seville), back in 1965, and raised in Bilbao, Jess Madrazo studied at the Higher School of Agricultural Engineers of Madrid (specialization in Agrarian Industries) and also graduated as a Technical Specialist in Oenology and Viticulture at the School of the Vine and Wine of the Spanish capital. He did harvest practices at Bodegas CVNE during the years 1988 and 89 and at Contino during the 1992 and 1993 campaigns. He obtained his first contract at CVNE with Basilio Izquierdo in 1995 and was appointed technical director of Vvedos del CONTINO (Laserna) in April 1999. where he remained in charge for 18 years, creating prestigious wines such as Via del Olivo and rescuing the first single-varietal GRACIANO from Rioja oblivion. He decides to start his own projects after producing the 2017 harvest in Contino. After many years being the soul of Viedos del Contino, Jess Madrazo decides to undertake his personal project. To this end, one of the most important figures in Rioja oenology soon was asked by multiple wineries to advise them. This allows him to continue and expand what he was already doing at Viedos del Contino, that is, his own selection of grapes to make extraordinary wines which he baptizes with his name as a guarantee of quality.
