Cabernet Sauvignon ripens slowly on the Farella property due to cooler temperatures and exposure to late afternoon sun, providing an inherent depth of color and tannin. The 2017 vintage is densely layered with blackberry, plum, and sweet maraschino cherry wrapped around savory black olive and touches of caramel. Smooth and silky upon entry, mouth-watering acidity tickles the tongue in the mid-palate before finishing long and structured. Aged in 50% new Taransaud French oak, this wine shows ample structure and great aging potential, staying in line with our goal of delicious while young, amazing with age.
