Description

The Pernand-Vergelesses vineyards stretch over the hilly slopes between Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-ls-Beaune. Only six of its plots are classified as red Premiers Crus: Les Fichots, En Caradeux, Creux de la Net, Ile des Vergelesses and Les Plantes des Champs et Combottes. This locality is one of the oldest vineyards of Burgundy: it was planted in 1158 by the monks of the Abbaye de Maizires. Lovely dark garnet color with a beautiful shine. Good aromatic intensity. The nose is very fresh with notes of small red and black fruits on a mineral and smoky background. Well delineated, fresh and fruity on the palate. Good structure and balance, the tannins are present but fine. Persistent finish ending on the fruitiness and mineral freshness.
